George Paukert was born in Czechoslavakia. Growing up under Communist rule, his one dream was to live in the United States of America. George left his homeland in 1968 when the Soviet tanks were rolling in.
George fulfilled his dream in 1969 when he arrived in New York City with less than $50 in his pocket. He had no family, no friends, no job in the U.S., nor did he speak any English.
George is absolutely the American success story. He applied his drive and determination to succeed no matter what.
Within one week of arriving in the US, George had a job as a factory worker making minimum wage of $1.90 an hour. Not satisfied with these earnings, George tried his hand at all types of businesses -- even a hot dog stand. Every Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 AM George was on the road to his location in Rockaway, New York. He even did some mail order, placing ads for various products in newspapers across the country.
In 1970 - within one year of his arrival in the United States of America, George opened a retail toy store - on a shoe string - with no money and no credit. In a few years he expanded into a small chain of stores.
Later, George went into the import business and became a very successful manufacturer's rep. How successful? In 1988 there were a total of 15,000 bread making machines imported to the U.S. Almost half of them were sold by George Paukert Associates, Inc. ! Not exactly a small task.

In 1988-89 George attended several Real Estate seminars. Realizing that most wealthy people became wealthy from real estate investments, George began to focus on real estate. He has bought and sold millions of dollars of real estate for both himself - as an investor - and his clients - when he was a licensed real estate agent.
George Paukert is the author of 10 books about real estate and other subjects.
He runs the Wealth Institute Workshops, was on the radio for several years with a show called "The Real Estate Forum", and on TV with his infomercial, "No Nonsense Real Estate".
